The Collage Portal
The Collage Portal is a workshop to help you navigate life transitions. Offered at seasonal junctures, like equinoxes and solstices—or milestone moments like a birth, wedding, or new job—this experience provides a container to explore your transition in a way that’s reflective, playful and creative.
This is an opportunity to slow down, sift through, and sort out the things that this transition is stirring up. Bring the thoughts and emotions that are swirling inside you. Bring the big questions you’ve been mulling over about what you want now or next. Bring the blossoming desires you have around change—even if you don’t know what to do with them yet.
The Collage Portal is your chance to move into a new season of life with clarity, ease, and a connection to the mystical.
What you’ll do
Over 3 hours, you’ll make two oracle cards. Oracle cards are illustrated cards used for reflection and insight. They can contain symbols, words, imagery, or artwork—and each card is a mirror of the person who made it.
You’ll make your cards by collaging materials like things you’ve cut out of magazines, stickers, washi tape, and decorative paper. You’ll start by gathering the items that speak to you and then you’ll assemble them in response to guided prompts.
After your cards are complete, you’ll spend time reflecting on the messages they contain. There will also be time for other people in the group to share what they see in your cards—an experience that can reveal additional insights and affirm that everything you need is already within you.
What you'll take away
By the end of the workshop you will have a visual representation of what matters to you—and clarity about what you need to focus on—as you move into a new season of life.
Private Workshops for those looking to honour a milestone: The Collage portal offers a way to celebrate a milestone in a way that is unique, meaningful and fun. If you are doing this as a private group to celebrate someone, the group will generate a deck of cards to honour the person who is the focus and to share their collective wishes for the transition at hand. At the end, the honouree will receive a full deck of cards infused with intentions and community support to take with them through upcoming significant moments, and to cherish from then on.

Fee:$100 CAD per person
Details: 10-12 participants. Materials & refreshments provided. To prioritize presence with our work and each other, this is a phone-free space (although you are welcome to take pictures at the end!).

FAQ
Do I need to be good at art? Why use collage? Collage is a profound vehicle for this type of work because it is so easy. There are very few barriers to getting started, and it ’s easy to get lost in the process whether you consider yourself an artist or you’ve never made art a day in your life. Many people hold distracting or painful stories about their ability to make art. Collage is an accessible art form that allows us to side step these unhelpful (and untrue) narratives about who can make art and what good looks like.
What are Oracle cards? Oracle cards are a set of visual tools for guided reflection that are similar to tarot cards. Just like tarot, oracle cards involve pulling cards from a deck with an element of randomness. This randomness helps interrupt habitual thinking and invites new perspectives on a situation or question. What’s unique about oracle cards is that they don’t follow a fixed system—each card is open to interpretation based on what you see and feel. In this workshop, instead of drawing cards, we’ll be making them.
